History

The original founder of WAY Radio in Jacksonville, Dan Richardson, got the ministry started and flourishing as a Bible-teaching format. That ministry continues to this day, but in January of 1998, Dick Weer, then General manager of WAY Radio, received a call about FM 90.7 in Brunswick being available.  The option was pursued and the sale was finalized a couple of months later.  90.7 WAY Radio went on the air in November of 1998

God brought changes to WAY Radio in 2002 when Luke Stephens was hired as the General Manager and made the decision to change the format of 90.7 to a Contemporary Christian Format. Shortly thereafter, Bart Wagner was tasked with programming the music that has been encouraging the Golden Isles for many years.

In 2008, WAY Radio purchased and renovated studios and offices in a historic 100+ year-old building in downtown Brunswick. It’s from those second-story offices on Newcastle Street that your station has become a fixture in the community.

23 years after it’s foundation, 90.7 WAY Radio is still trying to encourage believers and convert non-believers with the life-changing message of the Gospel through great Christian music.
