Helping the Dominican Republic

WAY Radio has joined with Crossover CUPS Mission to help a village in the Dominican Republic, specifically the mountain village of Alto de la Jagua. In February, 2021, the WAY Radio listeners in Brunswick and in Jacksonville provided the funding needed to construct a community center. The WAY Radio community center in Alto de la Jagua will provide discipleship programs, including the Boys’ Life Basketball Discipleship program. It will provide a meeting place for the 200 children in the village to learn about Jesus while being afforded the opportunity to have programs that will challenge them to avoid the traditional traps of poverty in the Dominican Republic. Too many children, without programs like ours, end up trapped in a life of abuse and exploitation. Our Boys’ Life Basketball Discipleship program empowers young men to become leaders in spreading the gospel in their communities.

YOU CAN SEE THE WORK IN PERSON! Want to see the community center as it’s being built, or plan a trip for when it’s completed? You can work with Crossover CUPS Mission and visit the mountain village that WAY Radio’s listeners and staff have adopted … Alto de la Jagua.

WHAT’S NEXT? Once the community center is running, we’ll begin planning for the trade programs that will help give children an alternative to the exploitation that so many endure. Life skills like sewing and baking help the children eventually find REAL employment, while continuing to grow in their newfound faith in Christ.

JOIN US! WAY Radio in Jacksonville and in Brunswick are excited about what the future holds for the residents of Alto de la Jagua. Together we can make a difference in the Caribbean. Join us on a visit, join us in prayer, join us in support.

Happy Easter

This is one of the times of year most treasured by believers in Jesus Christ … why? We believe what the Bible says, that yes Jesus died on a cross (Good Friday), but that 3 days later he was raised from the dead by God the Father and conquered death. Because of his death and resurrection, God then offers you salvation and eternal life if you will believe in Him and what He has done for you. Jesus took your place so that you don’t have to suffer the eternal punishment for your sin. At Easter, nothing would make us happier at WAY Radio than if you were to place your faith in Jesus Christ. Want to talk to someone further about what Easter means? There’s always someone willing to talk at 1-888-NEED-HIM (1-888-633-3446).

Happy Valentine’s Day

According to Wikipedia: Valentine’s Day, also called Saint Valentine’s Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine, is celebrated annually on February 14. It originated as a Western Christian feast day honoring one or two early Christian martyrs named Saint Valentine and is recognized as a significant cultural, religious, and commercial celebration of romance and love in many regions of the world.

From all of us at WAY Radio: Happy Valentine’s Day!

30 Days To A Better You

Okay, so we’ve all seen the books promising a brand new you in just 10 easy steps, or in only 30 days, or with just a $49 investment in a new product. But, at WAY Radio, we’re convinced that if you’ll listen to only Christian music … like we play on WAY Radio … that in 30 days you’ll have a new mindset. You’re likely to act more like a Christian SHOULD act because you’re filling your mind with Godly things. So, after the Christmas music, stick around and give your mind a 30-day cleanse … a 30-day restart … there’s a book title there somewhere.

In an effort to make it easy on you, not only can you listen on 90.7 FM in the Golden Isles of Georgia, but if you’re traveling, or if you live in a different part of the world, you have easy options. Vote!

Citizens in Georgia will decide the balance of power in the U.S. Senate in a run-off election that concludes January 5. More than 1 million in our state have voted early, but if you haven’t make plans now to cast your ballot. Many citizens in other countries have to fight for the right to vote, but it’s something that far too many of us take for granted. Exercise your right and make a difference in the upcoming elections. Click here to find out how to vote in Georgia.

The double runoff for the two Georgia Senate seats will decide whether President-elect Joe Biden has a narrow majority in the Senate to advance his agenda in Congress, or if Republicans will have the votes to block major legislation. If Democrats win both seats, the Senate would be split 50-50 between Democrats and Republicans and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris would cast a tie-breaking vote. The seats are now held by Republicans David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler, who are facing challenges from Democrats Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock. In the general election, Perdue led Ossoff 49.7% to 48%. The Loeffler-Warnock race was a special “jungle primary” to fill the seat vacated by Johnny Isakson. Warnock led 32.9% to Loeffler’s 25.9%. Republican Doug Collins came in third with 20%.
