The Heritage Walk/5K Race will begin at 9 a.m. at the Brunswick African American Cultural Center, 1621 Albany St. The course takes runners through the city’s most historic African American corridor. There will also be a walking tour that begins at 9:15 a.m. The race and walk will be followed by a family-friendly festival featuring refreshments, children’s activities and entertainment. Also on Monday, the annual MLK Day Parade will take place in Brunswick. Sponsored by the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration Committee, parade line-up will begin at 8 a.m. at Howard Coffin Park, 1402 Sonny Miller Way. The parade will begin at 10:30 a.m., with participants marching from Lanier Boulevard to the Risley Annex, 2900 Albany St. For more information, call 912-689-6184.
